Life story: well, like most desert rats who spent time in Saudi, I'm a third culture kid.
I'm one of those who gets called "Camel Jock" when I go to Dearborn, Michigan, even though Lebanon has no camels that can be spoken of.

I am originally from Lebanon. My father is from a village in the South that was taken in '48 and is currently occupied. My mother is also from South Lebanon. I was born in Arizona and spent the first six years of my life alternating between Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Michigan.

Then I moved to Saudi Arabia, home of mixed nationalities. Went to an American international school with people of all colors, religions, races, and creeds. Typical that the kid next to you in math class would have a German dad, Philipinne mom, born in the States, raised in Austria and speaks five different languages. Like I said, third culture kids. I spent seven years among the colorful bliss of foreign society in Saudi Arabia, faintly touched by the smell of camels, palm trees, and gold souks. And why would so many people move to this hot desert waste? Simple: free car, free house (furnished with electrical appliances), free cable, free pool, free rec center (all kinds of courts, pool rooms, library, bowling, etc), free water, free electricity, free maintenance, free...

You get the drift.

I'm in uni now in Lebanon, finally coming to the homeland I never knew a few years ago, tugging my haltingly horrible Arabic behind me.

And that's basically my life story. How boring. Go figure.
